I think this MBA programme teaches me to adroitly diagnose and weigh various problems what enterprises are facing in global practice.

For me the group works in MBA were the most beneficial. I truly learnt a lot by doing projects in groups.

Back to student life

Itīs been two months since I started the Master, itīs already November! It took me some time to adapt to the Finnish system because it is very independent and students have so much freedom to study on their own. In general, the number of students in the lectures is quite big because there are students not only from my programme, but from other programmes as well. The lectures are open for all business schools. Definitely we have multicultural classrooms and professors who are always willing to help.

The semester is divided into two periods and one examination at the end of the course. That means basically 2 weeks of exams during the semester. Some of the courses are based on practical cases, which in my opinion is more interesting than conventional courses. I also have another subject, which is a project with real companies. It has been challenging so far because people are from different countries and majors; we have different opinions, perceptions and points of view. This, however, makes the experience and discussions richer. It is also challenging because we are exploring markets, cultures and environments that we are not familiar with, thus we need to do a lot of research and be very receptive to the information in order to deliver good results. Itīs has been very interesting and time is running so fast.

Days are getting shorter and darkness is gaining more time. Now itīs the opposite of Summer. Iīm not used to this season and itīs taking me time to adapt because I feel days are really short. Trees have lost their leaves and roads are getting icy; winter is coming. It should be the hardest time in terms of climatic conditions, but since Iīm very busy with school and my job, and Iīm spending time with friends itīs just a matter of time before I get used to it.

Definitely when you are abroad, friends become your family … all the things you share, live and experience with them become strong memories and tight people in few months.

And the good part about the season is the typical warm drinks and the Christmas feeling that is just around the corner...
