Master's Programme in Finance and Economics (FE)

In the rapidly changing business world of today, there is a growing need for professionals in finance and economics, who meet the high requirements, set by the firms operating in a demanding business environment.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Oulu organises a two-year Master´s programme in Finance and Economics (FE) that will provide students with the required skills and knowledge to work in firms that operate in the modern financial world. The next programme will start in the end of August 2010.

The Master´s programme

The Finance and Economics´ Master´s Programme offers you a full two years of intensive studies that provide you with a wide knowledge on portfolio management, portfolio performance evaluation corporate finance, financial econometrics and derivatives securities. The courses are specially designed to provide students with deeper knowledge of all the most important fields of finance. In addition, the courses familiarise you with a number of different research methodologies used in financial analysis.

The FE Master´s programme provides a master´s degree of high international standards. The programme is specially designed for students with different university level backgrounds. As minimum precondition, an applicant needs to have an appropriate Bachelor´s (or similar) degree. The programme is ideal for those who have background education in business studies, economics, natural sciences or engineering. FE is specially designed to provide students with a strong background for scientific research.
