Oulu Business School

Oulu Business School (also known as the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration) is a part of the University of Oulu, the second largest multidisciplinary university in Finland. Oulu Business School, with its many interest groups, provides unique opportunities for students to develop their competencies in economic sciences and business operations. Oulu Business School is an international research and educational institute for business and economic sciences.

The mission of OBS is to create and transfer knowledge and better understanding on both local and global business phenomena. The cornerstone activities of OBS in fulfilling this mission are its internationally recognized research and high-quality education through which OBS provides experts and expertise for corporations, organizations and the society at large.

For 50 years, economic studies have been represented in University of Oulu. Traditionally the employment opportunities for economic students have been good after the graduation and the job requirements have matched the education. The majority of Oulu Business School graduates (69% in 2006) are employed in the private sector. The Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration is a widely recognised and renowned degree.

Location

Oulu is situated by the Gulf of Bothnia, at the mouth of Oulu River. With more than 130 000 inhabitants, Oulu is the largest city in Northern Finland. Oulu Business School is located in Linnanmaa campus area, about 6 km north of the city centre.
