International Business

Today, internationalisation and globalisation concern all firms and organisations regardless of their size – from small firms to multinational companies. International Business is the newest main subject in the Oulu Business School. International Business as a discipline focuses on issues and viewpoints that are important in understanding international business industries and contexts. In addition, building organisations for international business and running and developing international businesses are central elements of the curriculum.

As a multidisciplinary subject, International Business combines ideas from different fields of managing business. Thus, a close connection between theory and practice is maintained in all research, teaching, and projects within the field of International Business.

International Business studies provide graduates with skills and competences needed for practicing and developing efficient, evidence based management and leadership in today´s dispersed, international and multicultural business environments. These skills and competences are achieved through a multitude of tuition methods: lectures, seminars, case studies and analyses, team work, simulation and gaming, as well as company visits.
