The discipline of Finance at the Oulu Business School educates professionals for the growing needs of the finance sector. The education is based on the latest research evidence covering all the most important financial branches with an emphasis on asset allocation, delegated portfolio management and behavioural finance. All topics are covered with an international viewpoint without neglecting the special features of our domestic economy assuring the relevance of our education for the domestic labour market as well as providing our graduates a possibility to operate in an international business environment.

Our education aims to combine theory and practise in both teaching and research. We are constantly developing our study programmes to include real-life examples and illustrations in order to prepare our students for the transition to professional working life after graduation. So far the strategy has been a success and our alumni are working as financial directors, consultants, associate directors of corporate banking and researchers to name a few. Through our global academic co-operation network we also provide many opportunities to our students who are planning an international career.
