Accounting

The discipline of Accounting at the Oulu Business School is an integral part of all the school's degree and non-degree programmes. The accounting department offers courses in the B.Sc., the M.Sc., the international Financial and Management Accounting (FMA) and Ph.D. programs in accounting. Our programmes give a solid foundation for understanding the different areas of accounting.

Financial accounting covers the information and reporting systems of the firm that are used by various interest groups outside the firm. Management accounting develops information and reporting systems needed in the decision-making inside the firm. Master theses in the department are often ready-made applications for the specific needs of companies. Both the master´s students and the companies involved benefit from the cooperation. The companies are provided with the latest know-how in the field of accounting and the students gain valuable work experience.
