Oulu Business School at the University of Oulu is an international research and educational institute for economic sciences. Oulu, a modern growth centre, creates an inspiring and stimulating environment for business studies, work and leisure.
Oulu Business School is one of the six faculties within the University of Oulu, the second largest multidisciplinary university in Finland. With 1400 students and 100 staff members, Oulu Business School (OBS) is solely responsible for the University level Business Education in the whole of Northern Finland (the provinces of Oulu and Lapland; an area covering half of Finland).
Oulu Business School consists of six departments and students are offered studies in six different majors; Accounting, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management and Marketing. Studies in Oulu Business School lead to following degrees:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics and Business Administration
Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics and Business Administration
Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Economics and Business Administration
Along with the three international Masterīs Degree programmes (Finance, Financial and Management Accounting and International Business) and a full-time MBA programme, OBS strengthens its position as an international, university level business educator. It has become the most significant provider of English taught courses and degree programmes in the University of Oulu.
In spring 2008, President Martti Ahtisaari opened an international Research and Education Institute bearing his name: Martti Ahtisaari Institute of Global Business and Economics. The education is carried out in four international Masterīs programmes, and research activities are operated under three research programmes within the Oulu Business School.
